Warren Procci ’68 (right), chair of the Wagner College Board of Trustees, presents to President Guarasci a certificate acknowledging the milestone of becoming the College’s longest-serving president.

Richard Guarasci was named president of Wagner College on June 1, 2002. This summer, he surpassed the previous record for length of service set by President Arthur Ole Davidson, who served as president from August 1961 to August 1975. Guarasci served as Wagner provost for five years before becoming president.

Among Guarasci’s signature achievements at Wagner are the establishment of the Wagner Plan for the Practical Liberal Arts; the construction of Foundation Hall, Wagner College’s first new residence hall in 41 years; the multi-million-dollar restoration of Main Hall, the College’s architectural signature; and the increase of the College’s endowment from $5 million to more than $80 million.
