The release of the 2026-2027 FAFSA opened October 1, 2025.
NYS residents also need to complete the NYS TAP application.
•Begin determining which parent’s information is to be reported on the application.
•Each person reporting information on the FAFSA, must have an FSA ID. FSA IDs can be requested at studentaid.gov.
•Make sure each person (contributor) whose information will be reported on the FAFSA has filed their 2024 federal tax return, if required.
The Student Aid Index (SAI) is a number used when your aid offer is created that indicates how much financial assistance your family may need to pay for school.
Prior to submitting the FAFSA, you can complete the Federal Aid Estimator at studentaid.gov/aid-estimator. This will provide an estimate of your federal aid only.
Wagner has adjusted our priority deadlines for the 2026-27 academic year.
